I just put a rebuilt powerhead on my 1977 evinrude 115. Also had the stator replaced. I rebuilt the carbs last year and put new fuel lines from the pump to the carbs of ( which i replaced with regular line and it might have restriction on the flow. Anyway when i finally got her started which took a while it seemed to run ok for a few the shut down. Now when i try to pick up speed it shuts down. Fuel Pump ????
I also have to play with some wires around the power pack befor the ignition switch will work and i cant find any bad connections.

If you know what wires you have to play with before the ignition switch works ,you may have found one of your problems.Wire may be corroded or frayed within the insulation or within a component if all outside connectors look clean and tight.

You can perform a search of this forum by clicking on "search" at the top of the page and entering some specific key words.I think that is the library you are refering to.

I found the short, the fuse in the red wire on the motor was not making a good connection. I took the fuel pump apart and guess i need to put a kit in it if I can find one. The diaphram felt ok but not very soft.
