stalls when warm

1990 merc 4.3 L with alpha 1

starts up and runs beautiful until returning to dock - will stall when shifted to neutral or slowing down to idle
will not start again until cooled down then will start up great again
gas to carb - cranks fine - seems like no spark when warm only after returning to idle

temperture is fine thru-out the trip

After reading posts, it sounds like a coil or lower cable issue?

You've got to Check it to Know...........

Your explaination Sounds like a Carb Issue,........
But it Could be Spark,..... Ya gotta Check it though.......

I'm not sure how warm it is when it stalls, but I posted previously about a similair issue I was having. Boat ran fine for 10 minutes, then started stalling. Ran ok at idle though in my case. Replaced the coil and all was fine. Based on the warm/cool difference I didn't think it was a fuel delivery issue. If your fuel line is blocked up or if your pump is quitting it will usually won't get better by letting it sit a couple minutes.
