I just repaired the wiring and connectors going into the sending unit. The plastic disc inside that has the metallic contact points appears to be worn. Is there anyplace to purchase this one part or do I have to by the whole sending unit/limit switch kit? Man I sure would like to be able to just buy the part.

Thanks in advance,

Hondo

All you have to do is FEEL how the boat is doing and know what to do to change the trim to fix it. You don't need no stinking gauge for the trim. All it does is .......... well, ......... nothing.

There is a replacement kit for the plastic disk in the sending unit. Mercury Part #805134A4. They're $16.46 at BAM Marine.

45 Auto thanks a bunch. Exactly what I am looking for!! BAM's shipping was more than the part and I can't justify paying that shipping for a half ounce piece of plastic. But with the part number I found it elsewhere bought and shipped for what their shipping was so thanks again!

Don S. you are probably right but I like all the pretty gauges to move like they are supposed to. I will be in some shallow water so I want to be semi informed. And for $18 it is worth fixing if I had to buy the whole kit for $80+/- I might hold off.

Thanks again all

If the insulation on the sender unit wiring is open or spliced it will work for about an hour and give up on you. I found out the hardway. Dont waste your money untill the end of the season. Than replace with the kit when you do your outdrive maintanence.

Yeah I know that is why I fixed the wires today.
