For those of you that may remember me, I was given an old silverline that is junk but the motor and trailer are good. I was looking for a cheap boat for the motor and trailer.

Well I think I found one. It's an older (but not as old as the silverline) starcraft alum, 16' or 17' (I didn't have a tape measure when I looked at it). It is sitting in the back row of a dealer. Looks like the previous owner made a custom wood floor, put in new carpeting, and put in a live well. It really looks nice actually. I figure it must have been owned by a person serious about fishing from the floor plan and all the rod holders. Unfortunately, the swivel seats were taken out so all that remains for seating is the bases.

Over all it looks to be in decent shape. The transom wood looks like it will be questionable in a season or two. It has a little water in the bilge but not much considering the rain we've gotten lately.

But here is my concerns. The first is the transon. Is the wood hard to replace for when it does go? Secondly, anybody have a geuss for hp rating on this? The plague with all the ratings is gone. This is a bigger v-haul hull. The dealer said it might be fine for my 110hp, but without the plague he said he won't mount my motor to it (I was going to anyways).

Now here is my other problem. Where do I scrap my old fiberglass silverline? Do landfills/construction waste sites take them if they're haulled in?

Thanks everybody in advance.

Oh ya, the starcraft is $100 less then my budget for a boat (which was $300).
