Just came home from the big Seattle boat show The 19-20 ft Welded hull is called a (Starweld ) with a .100 thickness hull. Very nice boat almost indentical to the top Smokercraft just a few cosmetic diferences. I have a set of photos I took if you want to see them I can email to someone and they can post them. There is also a print of the boat specs and price with a 115 Honda 4 stroke on it. Pugetsound

Re: Starcraft welded

I saw a Starweld at a boat show a year or two ago. The hull looked nice but I gotta say, the fit and finish on the interior left something to be desired. And I think it was like $30k or something for around an 18'. Ouch!

$$$ YES The show price is at $28.000 and listed at $33.000 makes our older Starcrafts look excellent for what we have into them. Pugetsound

No doubt she is a beautiful boat...

But I'll never be that rich. I spose I'll stick with my leaky riveted boat that's nearly a 1/2 century old:redface:

Re: Starcraft welded

All new boats are nice, and I can tell you my 2000 19' was better than my 1979, especially
when it had a 90hp Merc 4 stroke, clean, quiet, and reliable.

The main difference having been on newer Starcraft's, like the SFM 18, and Fishmaster is the beam,
and that width creates "big" everywhere, freeboard, deeper V, etc., but..........................the rides were
still "tinnie" rides, and in rough water, they pound, and............................

For that type of money, rather spruce up a cheapie, add more accessories, spend money elsewhere.

Say for instance, a 22 SSV5 popped up at a reasonable price. I would go that route, then attempt
to modernize it with a late model outboard, I-Pilot troller, solid Fishfinders, and a nice kicker engine.

One thing about having a boat with a huge investment(debt) is that you either "marry it", or sit
in the backyard with a cooler of beer when you get home from work, and stare at it.

It would take winning the lottery to make a new boat possible on my end, then again, I would probably
own several....................lol

By the way, waiting on a callback on a SS16, Rude, and trailer for $300........make a nice ski boat for the kids, fun stuff

Re: Starcraft welded

The Starewld at the show is a 19 1/2 ft boat, the transom is much lower and the Honda 4 stroke is a short shaft motor. The splash well is smaller and they allow for two seats next to the moter well. I can post to any one who wants the photos as I have not ever figured out to do them to the forum. All I need is a email address to send them ??? I took 5-6 photos top, bottom and from the side. pugetsound

Re: Starcraft welded

Sorry this was advertised as a new northwest area boat with thicker hull and size The 19 ft boatr at the boat show is not at all the same as the one Jason posted the photo of. Different hull and design and material thickness. If not interested then off to another subject PUGETSOUND

Re: Starcraft welded

Ill send the photos to a friend and ask him to post them then you can see it and the factory specks. It is bilted to the transom which is very low compared to what we usually see.

Re: Starcraft welded

the low splashwell/transom thing seems weird to be selling in the PNW, as my perception is that you guys are running home before following seas a lot.

I'll try to get Ed's (Puget's) pics up, at least in my way. If they're not too big. Nice lookin boat, but I don't have the money for anything that new.

Re: Starcraft welded

That is a short transom. But I do like the boat. Unfortunately I can only afford one or two months worth.
