start engine on ground

I am swapping motors had to change oil pans and many other components I would like to start on ground before reinstall to check for leaks ,need pointers on where to connect wires and do initial startup I know where gas goes and water goes just not sure about electrical connections any help woud be great thank u

It depends on what type of ignition your engine has.

battery (-) to ground

battery (+) to starter

12 volts (+) to (+) side of coil

jump slave solenoid (yel/red wire small post) with 12 v (+)

VROOM!!!

To shut it off disconnect the jumper from battery (+) to (+) side of coil.
