starter 1982 115 hp

Hey All,<br />The starter on my outboard went out this last weekend. Just to verify I get 12 volts at the starter terminal when the key is turned. The gear turns, but it won't engage to the flywheel. Is it possible to rebuild it or should I get a new one? If a new one, how do I find a part#? <br />Mod# E115MLCNB<br />Ser# J0155051<br />Thanks For your wisdom<br />Arrow

any automotive starter shop can rebuild it.

Thanks for the replys, I've rebuilt automotive starters before. I assume they are similar. Can I get a rebuild kit for the bendix? <br />Thanks<br />Arrow
