Got my starter and bracket installed this afternoon and want to know what gauge wire I should buy? The motor is an 18 hp Evinrude -1969 model... The battery to the solenoid will be about 36 inches. Also is there a site where I might see a picture of this motor to help me with the route of the cable./?>
If I drill holes in the bottom of the case to accommodate the cables where can I buy some rubber grommets to route the cable through. Any suggestions or helpful tips would be welcomed
Thanks for your time

6 gauge should be fine for your engine. An electrical supply house or Home Depot/Lowes will have grommets. You can either crimp or solder the ends on the cables. Best if you can find the pre-made cables with the factory ends on them though...
