Starter interchangeability for 96 Force 90HP

Can someone give me a "safe" interchangeability guideline for a 96 Force Starter, i.e. what years and HP will cover this, and are there any Merc models? I need to eventually replace mine, it seems to be dying (replaced solenoid when it was bad, so that's new, batteries are good). Are they rebuildable?

Yes! Unless completely shot, they are rebuildable.

The factory rarely changes an outsourced part like this starter. So I know that any starter from any Chrysler or Force 3 or 4 cylinder engine is interchangeable up to 1990. Unless I miss my guess, they used the same starter (Prestolite) until they discontinued the Force line.
