starter issue 150 hp force

I disconnected the power lead to the starter, cleaned it brand new and shining...went to reinstall it and tighten the bolt or stud spun some when tightening it...anyone had this before??? and is it going be a problem later....I'd rather fix before I'm stuck trying to pull start this monster F5...Thanks all for your help..Kewl site I have been using it to troubleshoot my engine...glad I signed up..

Yes it can be a problem.
Remove the starter,take it apart.The bottom where the lead goes through.It can be twisted and break in the bottom cover.You might not have hurt it but the 150 is a bugger to start with a rope.
Real easy to work on these and put in new brushes while it's apart.
A touch of grease on the worm gear under the bendix.Just a touch!!!

haha i've tinkered enuff gonna buy a starter and go wakeboarding...i think trying to replace a broken roll pin for the tower shaft was the breakerdang thing turns everytime you try to get it in...fixed thx jerry i thought it'd be an issue
