I have a 1995 3.0 LX Alpha 1 Gen II

Most times when I turn the key it starts right up. But occasionally it does nothing. You can ALWAYS start it but jumping the relay on the starter with a screw driver. I have a new starter installed and same problem.

Whats the common issue here.

The starter switch on the dash?

The wireing somewhere between?

Is there another relay before the on on the starter?

Please help....save me some diagnosis.

Thanks

-Mike

Yes. Boats have a slave solenoid. Think of it as a relay for your relay. ;)

Anyway, they do go bad - next time it happens, get the volt meter out and start testing. But my money is on your slave solenoid. Or simply corrosion on your wires and terminals.

Is that the obe mounted above it? Near the 50amp breaker?
