Starter re engages after motor is running

Hello I have A1988 omc 4.3 Starter was randomly cranking while key was in run position changed key switch assist selonoid and starter Work good for a while alternater went out change alternator motor starts and runs then starter rengages while running key won’t stop motor pulled the coil wire And stop motor any suggestions what g
could be causing starter to re engage after motors running thanks

Check your ignition switch and the slave solenoid
