I have been using this starter relay. The only numbers on it are 0102. (Came with the motor when I bought it.) I do not seem to have any issues with it. Are there any dangers I should be concerned about?

Re: Starter Relay OK?

I know it is not the intended relay because I am only able to use one mounting screw. I have tested the resistance and it reads around 3ohms.

Re: Starter Relay OK?

3 ohms is typical of most starter relays. As long as it is rated to handle the current (Amperage) that the starter draws, it should be OK. I've never seen a relay that shows what amperage it's rated for stamped on it, but a sign that it is under rated is smoke, arcing or excessive heat. If you don't see any of that, you should be OK.
