starter removal question ??

I have a 115 johnson o/b i think my starter needs to be rebuilt i treid to remove it but it has three bolts i got two off and the one on the left side by itself i was able to back it out but there is another plastic part on the top stopping it from backing the whole bolt out please any ideas how to remove this bolt would be appreciated ?? thanks ..

Why do you think it needs to be rebuilt, Slammer?<br /><br />Probably 70% of starter motors that get replaced or rebuilt didn't need it.<br /><br />Let us know what information you developed and why you think it is the starter. You might solve your problem with a simple cable cleaning.

i started the boat for about 15 seconds and the she choked out before i could give her a little gas then i treid to start her up again and she wouldnt crank i charge the batteries up again and tried to start her up but no good same thing i noticed a litle smoke coming out of the starter rod area and smelt like a tar smell i think there is a good chance that it seized up what do you think >???
