I've got a 1995 Force thats probably got the original starter. Recently the starter started turning slow. I thought the battery needed charging. I charged it. No Luck .I've bought another battery and charged it up. Same thing. Could my starter be bad? Any help greatly appreciated.

Start by cleaning every connection from the battery to the block and starter, including the starter mounting pad

Got a new starter yesterday. I'll let you know how it works when I get a chance to put it in.

Don't throw the old one away. Had a 90HP Force and the starter did that. Removed and disassembled it, cleaned everything and put a little grease on the front and rear bushings. Still worked fine 7 yrs later when I sold the boat.

I got a new one for around 150. I may take the old apart. Bet it looks the same or worse than yours.

The old starter had a corroded, loose terminal. I replaced it anyway. New starter works like a champ.
