Well it is after 5pm here so too late to just go buy one to find out.
I have a 1999 90hp Johnson 60degree block. It decided to not start as in the starter would spin but not kick in and crank the engine. It has not been run since Feb. so I figure it is either the bendix or a low battery or a corroded connection.
I charged the batteries and no different. So to make sure it was not the battery switch I cleaned the terminals and connect the engine cables direct to one battery. No different, so I started cleaning connections at the starter.
I found that I could slightly wiggle the incoming big positive battery cable terminal on the solenoid. When I removed ALL cables and nuts from same terminal I can push it in and out about a 1/4" and wobble it good but can't turn it. The outgoing big terminal does not do that. So I am thinkin it ain't suppose to wiggle wobble and go in and out like that on the positive terminal.
What do you think?
