I have a 1980 (I was told) 90HP inline 6...

I rebuilt the carbs and when i took off the starter i stupidly hit the starter solonoid with my ratchet and i stupidly didnt disconnect the ground from the battery... SPARK!

So anyways, the solonoid is dead, i verified that by putting the battery to the starter direct, and it spun...

Problem i'm having is that i cant find the serial number of the motor. I have looked everywhere... its not on it. so what solonoid do i need? or can i just use any solonoid from that year range?

Re: Starter Solonoid

If it's a round solonoid with the small posts on the same surface as the large one it's a 89-68258A4/18-5818 if the small posts are below that surface and off to one side it's 89-96054T/18-5816
