Starter

I am looking for a starter for a Johnson outboard.. Model 40E75C. It is a 40 hp 1975 motor. Any help will appreciated.

check with the johnnyrude dealer, every site i tried said nla. could possible have rebuilt, as the guts are still available.

If the starter is indeed bad (3 of 5 starters replaced didn't need replacing) an auto starter rebuild shop can rebuild it for you.

Thanks for the advice. The started has a dead short to the case. Might be something simple or not.

There is a real good auto starter repair shop here and I will check with them monday.

Found the problem and it was a simple fix. Thanks for the info.
