Re: Starter

Please tell us how you determined that the starter is bad, whatsa.

Many starters that do not need replacing get replaced, then simple electric problems get discovered.

A better address for Twin City Outboard is tcoutboard.com. They are a salvage house and have thousands of outboards to strip.

Re: Starter

Well i'm a certified auto tech. So I somewhat know what i'm doing At least some of the time I think LOL. The Battery is at full charge. I tried to crank the boat over and its real slow and smoke is coming from the starter Right away. I performed a voltage drop test and its good. I took out the spark plugs and tried to crank the engine and its still slow cranking. I tried the pull starter and the engine is no froze up and pulls over free of major resistance. So the only thing left is the starter.

Re: Starter

Yup. Sounds like a bad starter to me, too. :)

Do what Daddy did. New starter, less bux.
