I have a 1993 Four Winns 190 Horizon that had set for 4 Years. I tried to start it after cleaning it up before I realized the Engine was Seized. I may have tried it 3 or 4 times before I realized it. I pulled all the plugs and fogged the cylinders and turned the engine over with a breaker bar on the Main Pulley. Engine then turned over nicely with the starter, tried to start a few times then I heard a clunk and saw some sparks emanated from the upper right side of the engine looking back. I read I may have damaged the starter trying to start the seized motor. I can't see anything burnt in the area I saw the sparks. I have the service manual but am not highly skilled in repair. Should I pull the starter and have it checked out.
Right after the sparks everything was dead when I turned the key. The next day I tightened the wingnuts on the battery which were a little loose and now the starter will turn over sometimes.
