I've got a 1982 Silverline with a 120HP mercruiser engine.

and i'm having some issue with it stalling after starting.

So i pull the throttle out and push forward and get it rpm's up

but when i pull the throttle back to 12 o'clock position to them put it into forward or reverse it would stall

now here is my question.

i've got a up/down trim button on the side and under the handle is another red button.

should i be holding that in as i bring it back to the central position or not

and before trying to put into forward or reverse

Re: Starting and Stalling issue

Does it do this on Muffs?

Does it do this when in the water?

I had similar issues with a bad lower shift cable. You may want to start there.

It took me about 2.5 hours to do it myself. Only to find that the shift interrupt switch is flaky...

Good luck!!

It was while it's in the water.

So what is the button under the throttle for?
