Starting Issue

I have a 2006 Hurricane GS231 with a 200 hp evinrude exec that has a starting issue. Sometimes it starts fine then other times it acts like the battery is dead. I can tell when it is not going to start because the trim will not work and the gauges go wacky when I push the trim buttons. I have cleaned all my connections to the batteries, it acts as if there is a short. Anybody have this issue before?

Sounds like a bad ground somewhere along the line since when it won't start you've indicated that the trim/gauges don't work either. The other place to look is you've mentioned batteries implying more than one. Is there a link between which battery you're starting from causing the issue? Are the batteries all tested and ok.
