Well this is a dumb question but how do I start my boat? has a 1990 Evinrude 150xp. These are the steps I take to start the boat

I prime the primer bulb but I don't know if I am priming enough
Push the key in to choke it and turn it over at the same time
All it does is turn over, what am I not doing or doing wrong. Kinda got into something I have no clue about and don't know anyone that can tell me what to do around here. Thanks guys

Re: Starting my evinrude

I got a Yamaha 150 and here is what works for me:
Prime bulb until it gets hard, pull out choke on the engine, push button on throttle and move forward until it get a little resistance (out of gear of course), push key in to choke and turn on. Once it fires up, push manual engine choke in. Once I figured out the secret to my engine, it works every time. Maybe it work on your evinrude.

I actually got it running yesterday. I dont think I was choking it enough. I pushed the choke in for maybe 10 seconds or so and then let go of the choke and cranked it up. Thanks for your tips though. I actually cranked it up three times yesterday so I must be doing something right now. Oh and I did prime it a lot more than I was so that could be part of it to.
