I have a 1987 force 125 0n my boat. It has been sitting since 2004. I took the carbs off and sprayed carb cleaner in them. It still will not crank. I can start it with starting fluid. Any help would be appreciated...........
Thanks

hiya fisher,

quit with the starter fluid.. only use premix and squirt that down the gullet. anyway, so you know it starts so thats a good thing. you need to work from the fuel tank to the carbs. get that ol gas outta there. check your fuel lines and primer bulb. get the diaphrams replaced. check all filters and vents. set carbs to spec. once you have this done, throw in some fresh plugs and a charged battery, give her a go.

Are you pushing in the key to choke the engine while cranking? This is a must do on a cold start. Are you putting the control handle in fast idle position for the cold start? this is also a must do.
