Re: starting problem

Sounds like you have an Iac problem(idle air control)You need to have the computer scaned for codes to see if the motor is going haywire or possibly something else like the tps(throttle position sensor).Look at all the vac.hoses and sensor connections first.Did the battery go dead recently? Some computer systems need to learn how to idle/run again after going brain dead.Disconnect the batt.and restart the eng.to "idle learn"the computer.

Re: starting problem

If your fuel is good and filters are new and clean, might look to the throttle position sensor, but that's only a guess.. Without checking for codes stored in the ecm, it's hard to tell..

How did the old spark plugs look? Normal/tan , sooty black, oily black?

Other things you might check are the plug wires.. Grab a volt/ohm meter and check the resistance of each wire... Suppression core wires do break down over time causing breaks in the core...

Re: starting problem

Have you tried cleaning the throttle body, if you pull the air plenium off you will see a big butterfly, just in front of it there is a little hole , thats the idle bypass passage and it could be clogged which could cause stalling at start up, just be sure to use throttle body cleaner, you don't want to mess up the inside of the thottle body surface.
