When I try to start the boat the engin will not catch. If I add a little gas to the carburator the engin will turn over but only run for a few seconds. Any suggestions

Re: STARTING PROBLEM

We have no idea what year & model engine you have. Are you squeezing the primer bulb to ensure the carbs have fuel at start up? Are you raising the fast idle lever? Are you pushing the key in to activate the primer/choke when cranking the engine? As the previous poster asked, what's your starting procedure?

Re: STARTING PROBLEM

could also be a bad fuel pump or restricted fuel lines.
start at the tank and work your way down to the carb.

or wrong starting procedure
