Re: Starting Problems
Diamond- Look up many other post of this same problem on this site in the last couple of weeks.
Such as (why does my boat run in the driveway and not in the water)Again if you did any adjustments to your engine while out of the water running in the driveway on ears. Thats the problem. All adjustments have to be in a tank with a test wheel. Or on a boat in the water unrestrained very tuff to do. There is back pressure on the exhaust while the boat is in the water. Makes all the differance in the world.Try holding
( stuffing ) a rag over/in the exhaust housing
( not in gear ) and try starting it will be the same results as in the water. This could mean a buch of thinks If you didn't screw with any thing start by taking a look for linkage problems before just you start turning screws.Every manual ever written states not to touch anything that was working before, in trouble shooting.
Give us more info Like has the motor ran in the last 30 years or did it work last week and now it doesn't. Or it was working till I hit a bolder the size of NJ and then it stoped.
steve
