starting rebuild of 1989 90 hp johnson

went thru heck trying to find someone to bore cyl.,they all send it out....prices are anywhere from 140-345...this is for 1 cyl. bored and other 3 hone...guess I am stuck with the 140.00...seems high to me,but can't do anything until block is done...This is Polk county FL

A few years back, I rebuilt the top end on my 1996 Johnson 88 SPL and used these people for the boring and parts.

I live in Texas. They had me wrap the stripped engine block in old carpet, put it in a shipping box and sent it to them in Florida. Shipped back to me, nicely machined with the top end rebuild kit.
Don't remember what it cost, but might another option for you.
