Re: startron products

I use it, I haven't had any problems.
Whatever you use , its wise to use something,
plus a water seperator filter between tank and engine with removeable cartridge.

I use Marine Stabil, though I have never read or heard anything bad about Startron products.

Re: startron products

One of Startron's claims is to kill bacteria in gasoline. They also claim to be an enzyme. I am skeptical of both claims. Althought Gasoline is organic, I find it hard to believe it can support life, or be altered by an enzyme.

I therefore believe it to be snakeoil, until I have some reasonable evidence to think otherwise. Remember fishing lures are not designed to catch fish. They are designed to catch fisherman.

I know diesel fuel can suffer from microbes (commonly mistaken as algae). Especially if there is water in the fuel. This happens a lot more at warmer temperatures, and enough of the little critters can grown start plugging fuel filters until the fuel is treated with a biocide.

Never heard of that happening to gasoline ever.

As far as "enzymes" go, for chemical reactions, they tend to act as a catalyst without adding much to the reaction.

Re: startron products

The problem isn'ty microbes growing in gasoline, its the other 10% crap they're mixing with it.
