1993 Four Winns 4.3L V6 had water in fuel. Could start with starting fluid but engine would immediately quit. Drained fuel lines, bowl, and installed new fuel filter. Fresh fuel is now being delivered to carb( verified by removing fuel line and turning over engine ). Now engine will start without the starting fluid but still immediately quits. Boat was given to me after a small fire due to leaking fuel tank. I have the fuel pick up line just stuck in an ordinary generic 5 gallon gas can ensuring it is immersed. I know with an outboard there is a bulb to pump on the fuel line to pressurize it. Could this be my problem? Fuel pickup line is not pressurized? Also, will the engine turn over at all if kill switch is pulled? Again, it starts and will continue to run if you feed it starter fluid but immediately quits when you cease the starter fluid.
