I have 93, sea ray 170 bowrider, 3.0 merc 4 cyl, anyway, when I had her up and running she dropped in rpm and was sputterin out of low to high idle while in gear, so I rebuilt the carb which had junk in it, and the f/w seperator which was also filthy, I took it out after that and she ran like a champ for a mile or so the the symptom came back, so I'm thinkin maybe fuel pump or somthin else clogged , anybody know where the pump is located or if there is a hidden screen I don't know about, This all started when I bought the boat from somebody after it had sat for a while, then I addad some stabil to clean it up.

Follow the fuel line from the carb ,be either mech or elec. The anti-syphon could be stuck. its the very first fitting at the gas tank.Fuel sep could be clogged again depending how much debris/water was in the gas tank.Have you done a full tuneup?

After 19 years it might be clogged a bit.
