I installed a Lowrance 510c on my boat this spring and have noticed that when I have the graph on and turn my marine band radio on (Uniden Oceanus) I get a lot of static to where you can't hear any transmissions on it. I have the graph wired to the battery with a separate wire and the radio wired to the boat's wiring harness. Wondering if it would help to wire the radio with a separate wire also?

Re: Static on Radio

Where is the antenna located for the radio ?? close to the Lowrance??
does the Lowrance cable run near the radio ??
are they mounted side by side and the cables real close together.
I have a cb mounted in my boat and the antenna is mounted about a foot away from my hummingbird. I can hear the click click from the hummingbird in the cb.
If i move the antenna to the other side of the boat it goes away.

just a few things to check. :)

The graph is about a foot from the marine antenna and is mounted to the boat. The cable for the antenna is fairly close to the graph cable. I might try to spread out the cables so they aren't so close together.

Re: Static on Radio

Is the static on all channel or just one or two. I seen several boat where channels 72 or 74 were noisy and would stop the scanner unless turned the squelch way up. Troubleshooting I did found the LCD screen was the source of the noise. Put some foil over it and it goes away. I tried L C noise fliter and different power but no help. I finally just locked out thoese channels.
