Stator and Trigger test

How do you check a stator and trigger on a 1989 200hp Merc V6. They are off the motor and I want to see if they are still good. I don't know the ohm reading for this test.

Ohm reading do not always tell if the compent is OK but will tell if there is a open winding here's the test.
