Well, I think i have found the source of my 1,3,5 cylinders not firing. It appears that a splash of good ol' salt water found it's way to the top of my engine. Evident by a white powder substance in one of the cavities of the power head casting. Not sure how this could happen- possibly through the side vents of the hood??? Anyway, I pulled the power pack up from its 4 mounting posts and found that the (2) brown wire connector feeding the stator pulses to the P Pack was moist and had a greenish sludge around the pins and the female end. The 2,4,6 side connector was bright and shiny new!. I cleaned the plug with contact cleaner and the female end with 3/4 bristles of a wire brush. It still is not perfect , however I have spark on all cylinders until about 4200 rpm , after 4200 is reached the motor drops the bank and and stalls. Is it possible the connections are still not good enough?<br />Question is: Can I cut the plug off both the male and female ends and "hardwire" the connections via solder or general marine splices with shrink insulation or should I order a (2) conductor plug from OMC dealer and re-plug the harness?
