Will the stator from my 1990 Johnson 90 work on my 1979 115 evinrude? Basically trying to Frankenstein one go engine out of the 2 since things haven’t gone my way with this old boat. The 90 ran till my VRO took a crap and leaned out destroying a piston. Bought a 1979 115 for the Lower unit the guy claimed the powerhead was locked up but the driveshaft bearing was froze and the powerhead was good. I’ve already put the powerhead in place of the 90 and it bolts up. I was having no spark on 3 cylinders. Before the swap. And in need of new coils for it but I want to know if I can use my engine harness from the 1990 on the 1979. Both are flat back cross flows. (Pic of the 90 hp after I took the powerhead off
