65 hp 1972. the stator i have was oozing or the casing melting. i have loss of power. it checks out to be ok but i can replace it with a spare one but this one has tiny cracks but no signs of oozing. do the cracks effect it.
Gary I have a stator that is giving up it's inners as well. (potting compound). And everything I read says to trash it and get another. I think the cracks are the first signs that its on its way to failure.<br /><br />Mike
