Re: Stearing wheel

Is it an old style cable/pully system or a newer single cable? The older ones are not all the same.

Just take off the existing wheel and measure the hole. Tapered, keyway or splined? Then order the same size.

Re: Stearing wheel

I've seen several types of steering wheels over the years, most are tapered 3/4" with a keyway, but Mercruiser had some with square shafts, and I've run into a few straight keyed shafts and one with a roll pin which sat just below the wheel which fit into the lower aluminum casting of the wheel itself.

I'd say 90% out there though are 3/4" tapered shaft style.
