stearn drive gear lube vent cap stuck

The stinkin' thing won't come out. I have soaked it with WD40 and tried using a impact driver to no avail. any ideas??<br /><br />Can I use heat?<br /><br />Mitch

WD40 isn't a penatrant. Try something like PB Blaster, or Aero Croil.<br />Let it set for a day or so then try the impact driver.

I think you want cold. I read somewhere about using propane gas to "freeze" a part. That would make it smaller. Then immediately try to loosen it.

I agree with Don. If you ever need to freeze something, go to an electronics supply house and get a can of freeze mist, propane sure sounds like an explosion waiting to happen.
