It looks as if I may be rplacing the steering cable soon. I noticed a pretty good crack in the cable insulation and into the cable itself, this is where the cable bends when tilting the motor. My question is this an involved job of adjusting the cables somehow after the new ones are installed. Or is the hardest part just getting everything apart. This is on a 1986 Ranger 371v.

Thanks in advance.

wili,You speaking of the steering cable or the throttle and shift cables? The steering cable should not be effected by tilting the engine.

It is in the steering cable(two large red cables) I just assumed (I know what happenens when we assume)it was due to tilting because I saw the cable flex in the arrea it is cracked.
