Steering Cable Compatability

Hello
I am changing the outboard motor on my boat from a 1988 90hp Johnson to a 2008 75hp Etec. Can anyone tell me if the steering is compatible? Also I was wondering any thought on how much power I will lose. I know it will troll better, and should be more economical.

The steering should be compatible. Since both engines are prop rated, you will lose 15 hp with the ETECH. The direct-injected ETECH should be much more economical, probably at least 33%.

Thanks emdsapmgr. I like the economy side but just want to feel secure that it has enough power to handle the boat.The springbok is only rated for a 90hp
