Steering cable extension

OK, so I measured before re-routing my steering cable conduit before replacing my floor. However, when I routed the conduit, I had to make a few turns and now, I'm about 1 inch too short! I probably know the answer (after searching the web for a few hours), but is it possible someone makes a small extension for steering cables? I'm attaching a picture of my cable (and how far I have to go!) and a drawing of what I think I could use (if it exists). I believe I'd have enough range, but perhaps not. I was hoping to not have to replace the cable:mad::(

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Move the steering wheel over an inch? ;)

You could always buy a longer cable, or remove some of the bends out some of your conduit to allow it to get more slack. Is this the original cable? If your turns in the conduit are too tight, you may end up with steering issues down the road from the cable rubbing.

Well, not the answers I wanted, but certainly what I was expecting! Redfury - I ran the conduit with only 45? bends so I think it should be OK there (and there's no way I'm pulling up the floor to change it now!). I am worried if there's too much tension, perhaps it'll start wearing unevenly, though. My last boat had the cable steering with pulleys and wires. I understand how this single cable system works, but not much more about it. In my searching, I see most cables are branded teleflex. I don't see any identifying markings on mine - is it safe to assume there's only one "kind" and just get the length I need (if I decide to buy a new one)?

Uugh, I'm so close to finishing this never-ending project! I've been planning to post a link to my suffering on the completed restorations forum (for the past two months!). I guess it'll have to wait a bit...

Thanks for the rapid response(s) as always!
