I have a 1995 Regal Valanti 202 SE 4.3 LX Alpha 1...I took the steering cable off due stiff steering..

Now that it is off...Should the outdrive be able to move back and forth by someone pushing it? If it should be moving what part allows it to move???Is there anyway of lubing it to loosen it up....

What else should I be looking into???

Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks,

Sean

yep cable on or off power steering even.. I can move my drive side to side manually There is about 10 lube points in your steering mechanism behind the engine . Wish i knew how to post that pic Hopefully Don S will see this, he will have a diagram in your face in no time.

Wow..I didn't know there were that many..

Maybe I'll do a search for that diagram and see if anything comes up..I guess I will start poking my head down there and get to looking...

Thanks for you reply..

What does it mean if doesn't move side to side?

I think it means sumtns' wrong.. ! Looking at my manual there are 2 or 3 zirks for a grease gun and another 6 or so pivot points that just need oil...Inside the boat .on the steering mechanism Im sure you can find a diagram on here somewhere Then there is an upper and lower hinge or pivot on the drive itself. Something is bound up
