I have a 2000 Calabria sport Comp XTS and need to replace the steering cable. How do I get to the rudder end of the cable. I'm good with tools and time I just need something to look at so I know where everything is at.

So she's an I/B ski boat with a hatch in the sunpad over the motor. Can you see the rudder post with the hatch removed?

That is my problem I can not find an access point to look at the rudder end of the steering cable. There are seems but no hatch or other access point that I can find with out take random stuff apart. I just need something to look at so I dont make a mess of it.

Are the sunpad cushions removable? There has to be a way to get back to that rudder. I mean, someday you're going to have to repack the stuffing in that rudder port, you know?

Wow seabob4 you are fast. I went to my local dealer for some help he tells me hey it is just 4 to 6 screws in the center plate behind the motor hatch> So i start to look and i can't find any screw then he tells me they may be under the carpet so i have to cut it? any way I think this is going to be just a question of how much time and skill i have to fix. I've had 2 or 3 people tell me to first lube it up and if that does not work then replace. But thank you for taking time to help me this is a great place and if at anytime I can help someone I will..
