Steering cable seized

G'morning, the steering cable on my Johnson 40 HP OB is seized and thus won't "turn the engine". When I manipulate the rod connecting to the cable, the steering wheel itself turns. It seems that the cable somehow does not activate the shaft leading to the engine ... any suggestions ? Thankfully,

Re: Steering cable seized

Well John, sounds like you're a prime candidate for a new cable.
Remove your old one, measure it then go to the iboats parts section and look for a new one. You might be able to save your ends so don't throw it away until you're sure. :D
