Steering cable

I have a 1989 Regal Valanti 225 and need to replace the steering cable as the boat will only turn left. having trouble determining what kind of cable to get and the length. Would appreciate some assistance in this matter, as I am a trye neophyte

If your boat only turns left, I would say the helm underneath your dash is shot. Do you know if you have rotary or rack-and-pinion steering?

I believe it is power assisted rotary
