I am restoring this Espadon FS-175 (17.5') boat. I bought a steering console (it came with the outboard) put wonder where I should place it?

I am thinking about installing it as far starboard as possible. But, length wise, should it be half way, two-third of the way?

Any rule, guideline, suggestion, or opinion would be appreciated!

Re: Steering Console Location

Really depands on how you rig the rest of the boat and how all other weight is distributed. The more weight you can rig forward, the farther aft you can put the console. I don't know of any mathmatical calculation that would help.

You've got to make sure the boat is trimmed properly when at rest and when running on plane. Only sure way is to completely rig it and put her in the water for testing.
