I have a 1988 evinrude 225 on a Grady White 1988 offshore w/ manual steering. The boat has been out of the water for 2 seasons, but was winterized propery and the fittings were greased. I don't want to pull on the steering for fear of stripping the gear box, but the motor wont budge .<br />Any suggestions on how to unfreeze the steering cable???

Did you take the cable loose at the motor and see if the motor is free when you do?
