Hey all. I just installed a new-to-me transom shield/steering fork/helmet on my Volvo Penta 280 and am realizing that the bolt that screws into the outdrive is too small for the helmet (see attached pic).

Is there a bigger bolt that I can get, or is this helmet a different style and not going to be compatible at all? I’m reading that some styles were a two bolt, but that ther are also multiple styles for the single bolt design, so just unclear which I have.
Thanks for any thoughts

Your helmet is the style that is mounted using 2 socket head screws going through a larger slug that fits into a receiver cavity on the front of the gear housing. The flange on the gear housing that the bolt is screwed into is the earlier 280 style. If the original helmet from the previous transom shield is still just swap it.
