Steering, HELP !

1st time posting . I just bought an '89 Sunbird SPL 17' w/ an 88Hp Johnson and need to replace the rack and pinion steering. I got the old cable out ok with a sawzall, but never realized the new cable has 2 ends that can't make the turn at the bow. Do I need to remove the seat/cushion ? If so , can anyone walk me through this ? Thanks in advance , Frank

Welcome to Iboats. You will probably get more responses if you post in the general boating forum since more people monitor it and the steering issue is probably not Sunbird specific.

thank you tnduc, been busy , but will be twisting wrenches this weekend being the weather finally broke and the fish are biting .
