I have a Tru-Course steering system (dual cable and not power assisted). It is on a 1985 OMC V6, 3.8L engine I/O. The cable inside the housing is broken and some of the parts are missing from the stern side hookup. I found a used cable complete from end to end however it is 15' long and mine is 16'. <br /><br />Question: Can I pull the cable out of the housing from this 15' and replace it with a 16' cable of the same diameter?<br /><br />Thank you.
